See what I did there? It's a leap year.
I was watching fireworks in New Orleans when midnight struck 2016... although I guess it would've been an hour difference if I'd been in Philadelphia. I had a BLAST in NOLA and I can't wait to go back. Meanwhile this is a good time to reflect on the year past and the year to come.
How appropriate! I made a calendar!
I got a limited printing of 50 of these and sold out :) I'm so happy with how they came out, and I'll be rolling out my own painted prints of these creatures in the year to come.
In August 2015 I moved into my first grown-up artist studio, and I couldn't be happier. It's just a 12 minute bike ride from West Philly, and I actually love that it's in a different neighborhood that I can get to know. Thank you everyone who has come to an open studio so far!
In 2015 I had work in 4 solo shows and 2 group shows. I sold at 5 craft fairs, and hosted 3 open studios in my new space. Can you believe that?
...I know I've said it before, but I can't get over how lucky I am to enjoy my work. Sometimes I get bogged down by being a human in the world, and wonder if what I'm doing is really valuable. I recently came to the realization that even if it doesn't feel like I'm really helping anyone when I'm selling at a craft fair, or packing and shipping coloring books, it's all part of something bigger. At some point I will be starting or being part of a project that is going to really make an impact.
For now, here I am, in the world, doing my thing. I can't say thanks enough for your support. And I support you in doing your thing too.
